BIRTHSTONE- Topaz
ZODIAC SIGN - Scorpio and Saggitarius (Nov. 23 to Dec. 20)
HOROSCOPE: (Please see blog on October Celebrants for Scorpio)
Sagittarians symbolised by the Archer are known for their frankness, sincerity and optimism. They have a high sense of justice. They are very fond of giving advice. Their philanthropic nature makes them charitable. They are intense hard workers. They are sociable and popular among friends. They are exceptionally honest and hate deception and trickery. They like to follow conventions. They are always ready to shoulder responsibility. As they possess great strength of will, they like independence in having their affairs done in their own way. They are impulsive too. They take sudden decisions and change their occupation and interests in absolutely unexpected ways. They are deeply religious and follow their faith with great zeal and enthusiasm. They like change and even change their habits in life without any significant motive. They are well built and extremely fond of sports. They are most happy out doors.

Joy Luck in Mamou.
The food, hmmm, the steak seems to be worth going back for. Priced at P3,000 but is good enough for 2 people, or 3 if you eat light. The roast pork and chicken was not attractive to look at but I was told that it was good. I guess it doesn't seem appetizing when the plate has all that black together (black beans and brown rice and grilled chicken). The pasta salad, we had to return and order another because once again, besides the fact that it didn't look good, the combination of the vegetables (green and red pepper) and anchovies need to be improved. But there are still quite a few in the menu that we didn't order so I am not fully decided yet. But because the kitchen is open to the dining area, when dinner is done, you tend to smell like what you ate. I say, I don't think I will be back anytime soon.
But what was good about this night was the combination of good friends, great laughs and exchange of stories. We also took time out to plan the Joy Luck Christmas party. To the absentees, Cherry, Oliver and Lawrence, we missed you.
Alex and Ylaine.
Gary and Krissy.
Peter and Pat. Put them together and you get Peter Pat. Hihihi...
Minena, Christine and Mary Ann

My Joy Luck Club. Jasmine and Eric, sorry, I failed to take a close up!
Sharon's Night Out.
Sharon Chong, the reason for my going home at 3 am on a weekday.
We started the evening with dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Duo in Serendra. We were 8 girls and had one rose within the thorns, SJ who happens to be my drinking buddy. As you would know, being with 8 girls can be pretty intimidating. All that yacking and nagging made SJ take on a dare by eating a slice of bread with mash potatoes, glob of butter mixed with a spoonful of rice as topping. Talk about carbo loading. Here's a photo of what you should never ever eat without a doctor on stand by.
At Duo, Stephanie, Cat, Margaret and SJ. My bad for failing to take a photo of late comers, Janina and Dorothy.
Add Marivi and yours truly to the group.
Margaret and SJ.
After dinner, we headed towards Cuisine to start the party rolling but the main destination for the evening was my usual hang out place, Martinis where Sharon, the newest member of the group was officially sworn in last Wednesday. I believe that if you go to Martinis twice within 2 weeks (especially since she is only here in Manila for a total of 3) you are considered part of the Happy Drinking Gang. This girl knows how to party. She keeps an eagle eye out for handsome guys and makes sure I do the dirty work and make an effort to get him to our table. To Paolo, Assistant Manager of Martinis, you are the winner for the night.
At Cuisine.
One our way to Martinis, because we only had 1 car available, 8 of us had to squeeze in my car (5 in the back, 3 in front). Thank goodness there was not a Dubai odor experience!
At Martinis.
When our drinks came, the table reminded me of a real life FACEBOOK application, Booze Mail or Happy Hour. Check out all that happy liquid!
To Sharon, CHEERS!

Beautiful as it is inside, the outside features of Raffles Dubai is equally breathtaking. The pool area, outdoor lounge, a glass tent cafe caters only to people with the finest taste. The outlets/restaurants are also equipped with state of the art equipment and serves only the finest quality food prepared by carefully hand picked chefs from all over the world.
There are still some outlets under construction right now, for example, the tip of the Pyramid will be lit by a range of high powered lighting system as it will be the bar and club of the hotel. It gives you a 360 degree view of the city and for sure will have the best DJ's in the world.
Once again, thank you to CW for the inside view of one of the best hotels so far. All the luck to Raffles Dubai.
