Sinful life at Siniloan, Laguna
It is where each and everyone of my family gains about a pound for the weekend. Where there's plenty of food, abundant of places to sleep/nap, coconut juice to fill up the river, oxygen fills our lungs but but absolutely nothing to do but vegetate, thus the gaining weight issue. My mom would disagree, she would surely say that we can lose weight even when we are being fed every hour by the cooks by ways of gardening, plucking out the weeds, trimming the bushes and picking up dead leaves on the ground.
Ummm....no thanks. Think we would rather munch on the fried bananas.
This farm was literally a marsh land. Nothing but tall weeds, soil and a whole lot of nothingness when my parents decided to get it. When we first visited the site, I was like..."Eeaaauuwwww..mud!" But now, my dad and mom have really created a place where everyone that comes to visit ends up loving it.
The Dizon kids have our own houses. My brother Cedric and his family has a modern type of house but still with a hint of native roofing. A two-story loft kind of design that sits right in the middle of the water. (Failed to take more photos of his house...was busy taking a nap.)
Jenny and her fam has a beautiful Mexican style home with a view and private garden where the kids love to hang out. The one bedroom house has a very spacious living room, dining room and bathroom and a roof deck that is high enough to see a mile of luscious vegetation around the area.
CJ and his gang has the cutest house because it is a true to its kind BAHAY KUBO. For the non Flippers, you can just check the meaning in Google (hihi). It is a tiny one bedroom house that is made of all natural materials such as bamboo and anahaw leaves. It was good when it was just CJ and Lucille but now that they have 2 kids, I think building a bigger, more sturdy house is about time, a house that the big bad wolf cannot blow away.
The big bosses' (parents) house is HUGE. It's got a big living room underneath the bedroom where we sometimes have our meals. It is also a great place to nap because of the wind that goes through it. The bedroom has a balcony that has an amazing view of the mountains.
I know, I know, you are curious to see my house but well, I think that since it is my blogsite, I should feature my house on a separate blog to make it more special......OK! OK, honestly speaking, the reason I can't talk about my house is because I haven't had the time to furnish it and so I didn't take photos. Will blog about it when it is completely done.
Anyway, Siniloan is where we spend New Years Eve..away from the smoke and noise pollution that Metro Manila is so rich with. It gets cold in Siniloan during February to April that you actually need to really lay on the thick clothing. May to June it is so hot! September to January it rains quite a lot.
So if you are my friend and you want to go to the farm and get a P75.00 manicure or pedicure (got my toes painted red), P400.00 2-hour massage, all you can drink coconut juice, food laid out (buffet style) morning, noon, mid-afternoon, night and midnight snack (for free of course), this is your password,
"I Love Freeloaders!"
The following photos are random pics of the farm. Let me know if you want to go, but you have to promise me one thing...you have to pluck the weeds, trim the bushes and climb the coconut trees for BUKO (coconut).
Life is good in Siniloan...sinful but good.
