Xeng and Tessa!

Event: Tessa and Xeng's birthday party
Venue: Embassy
Date: Jan. 30, 2008. 10 pm
Guests: The whole Metro Manila!

As you can probably tell, my date this evening is Puey (he is in almost every photo that I took). Anyway, as the alcohol filled me up, my body wanted to retire early and I left my date and the party scene at 1:30 am. But the fun went till 5 am and hearing about it is enough to make me exhausted. GOSH! I am getting OLD!!!

But so is Tessa Dragon of L'Oreal and Xeng Zulueta of Shu Uemura who turned a year older. To these girls who are responsible for making a LOT of women have flawless skin and beautifully made up, you both are beautiful inside and out. Happy Birthday!

Lulu Tan-Gan and her "daughter", Puey Quionones.

The birthday girl, Xeng Zulueta.

Janina and her hubby, Lucille Dizon and PQ. We also celebrated the birthday of LUCILLE when the clock turned 12. I was so glad that she is finally able to party with me. I hope it won't be the last time. (She just gave birth 4 months ago, I am such a bad influence.)

Janina and Toby.

Chase Yap and yours truly. It's because of Chase that I finally found my purpose in life. My path to be happy and fulfilled. To you, my readers, you should also follow this road to unending misery and loneliness. Thanks Chase!

Metro Society Boogies on Down with Motown!

Event: Metro Society
Venue: EDSA Shangri-la Hotel
Date and Time: October 5, 2007, 8 pm
Sponsors: HSBC Premier, EDSA Shangri-la Hotel, Samsung

It was fun. I have been to quite a number of events just these past weeks and I was tired of the same old thing. This party was rocking. Motown was the theme and people really took time to dress for the occasion with afro wigs, bell bottoms, psychedelic printed clothes and baby doll dresses.

There was a show where Drag Divas performed songs (lip sync) of Tina Turner, Supremes and music from the movie Dream Girls. After that, it was on to the dancing floor to a mix of 60's to 80's music. Celebrities such as Dawn Zulueta, Carmi Martin, Diether Ocampo (my crush) and others whom I probably did not see was there to see the action.

The spread was a mixture of Filipino, Japanese and Chinese cocktail food. Pork sate, dimsum, siopao, spring rolls, sushi and roast beef carving fed the Motown babies. There were drinks to make us all happy but most of all, it's the company that made this event fun. Check it out!

And now the guests...Anton, Leah and Steffie.

Ferdie and your bloggerina.

Puey, Dennis and Jojie cutting the rug with their dancing skills.

My GM, David Batchelor and super lovely wife, Marilu. By the way, for those who know DB, I made him dance a bit. I know, I am so proud of myself. What an accomplishment.

Philippine Tatler Ball 2007

Event: 6th Philippine Tatler Ball
Venue: Makati Shangrila Hotel
Date and time: September 29. 2007, 6:30 pm
Attire: Formal
Sponsors: Lucerne, Nokia, HSBC, Moet & Chandon

It was hectic with a capital H-ay nako......(a big sigh). Saturday, I arrived from HK at 4 pm, went straight to Rajo for my dress, then to Rockwell to Solea for my shoes and then to Peninsula for my hair. It was another photo finish for me which is already becoming a ritual whenever I have an event to attend to. Luckily, I have Rajo to take care of me and my beautiful Tita Naty who lent me her hand bag because I didn't even have time to go home, not that I have anything better than what she lent me but gosh, how grateful I am to have you people in my life. Muah! Muah! Muah!

Aside from the overflowing red and white wine and not so overflowing champagne, it was the friends that I saw there that made this night special. All of them beautiful and bejewelled. I for one wore an antique Indian made necklace that has about 25 carats of diamonds and a bangle with rubies also with 25 carats worth of diamonds. The necklace has a matching pair of earrings but according to Rajo, I need not wear the earrings but luckily, just an hour ago, I had sold the set to one of my favorite clients.

It was hard to eat the P1,500++ meal they prepared because you could not even sit for a straight hour to finish your meal before you have to stand and greet a friend across the room. A lot of beso beso and wide smiles were exchanged and by the time I got back to my seat, the meal was cold. So best thing to do in times like this is to guzzle up all the champagne you can drink and go to North Park for some hot noodle soup (P80.00 or US$1.70) after the event.

Gigi Bautista and Associates was the coordinator for this ball and what a great job they had done too. There was a harpist who greeted the guests at the main entrance but honestly, I didn't hear a single note. Such a waste. "Dreamgirls" songs were performed by Divas Isay Alvarez, Bituin Escalante and Lani Misalucha's sister (will get her name for you). After the presentation, Spirit of '67 made the crowd get on their dancing shoes to boogie on down with a couple of songs rendered by beautiful host, Pops Fernandez.

Puey Quinones created these ultra chic gowns of Chichos and Xeng Zulueta.
