50 Must Buys in Manila, the Book.

When Janina Dizon-Hoschka and Michael Salientes put their heads together about shopping, you would think that you need to sell your soul to be able to afford what they think is the hottest thing to have. But from bread to flutes, these guys know the best place to get it. A collaboration between two great shoppers/fashionistas/stylist/tastemakers resulted in a book entitled 50 Must Buys in Manila where they featured products which are ALL LOCALLY MADE. BRAVO FILIPINO!

I also have to mention the tremendous effort of T. Hoschka who was the one who glued the two heads together in the first place.

Some featured artists, designers, products in the book are my friends;

PUEY QUINONES

SUNSHINE PUEY

MICH DULCE

PAUL SYJUCO

BRIAN TENORIO

And of course JUL B. DIZON JEWELLERY
Book launching is on the 20th of December at 2-6 pm in Fully Booked, High Street, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. This event in itself offers much surprises for those who will purchase a book on the said date. Raffle prizes which are sponsored by the featured products in the book awaits, and yes, you may win a one of a kind, handcrafted, jewelry item from Jul B. Dizon Jewellery!

Janina's Birthday Bash.

To my favorite sister in this planet
I hope that this day was a blast
This celebration and how well you planned it
We, your guests, wanted the whole day to last.

You were able to make Cris go
And that in itself is a feat
Because you know how often she says no
With joy that she was there, I wanted to leap!

Guerlain, YSL and your jewelry
Tarot card reading and hand massage
Truly made it a day of luxury
It was really fun especially for your entourage.

Mitzi, Dorothy, Mary Ann and Caroline
They couldn't get enough of the fortune teller
That they even invited him just in time
To go to Felix for our dinner.

For the make up that I chose and you paid for
I want to thank you in advance
I regret not have picked out more
But the huge birthday cake put me in a trance.

You better say thanks to all your guests, I think
Who came to be a part of your special day
I guess you can just send them this link
And yes, to me, you will have to pay.

Happy Birthday to you
You belong in the mall
With your love for make up and the dresses
Doesn't this pic make you look so tall?

Cheers Sistah!

FACETS, the Designers.

The men is to production as women is to design.

We have our own style in design as you may all know. When we are asked to design something big and flowery, we usually leave it up to my mom, Jul Dizon to create something with this theme. In her collection, she may just have 8 items but all her pieces are formal and diamond filled. Meaning, they are the utmost precious pieces in terms of value and size. Something that you hand down from generation to generation because they are simply unforgettable and priceless. The two lovebirds that head the company, my daddy and mommy. How proud I am of them.

Janina is more of classic and stylish. Transforming from one look to another in matter of minutes. A lot of components that will leave you to play with your imagination as to how you want your earrings to look like. One element may be used for another which will give you a totally different item to wear. It is fun, creative and simply amazing. Very reasonably priced too.

My sister-in-law, Ginny has a certain way of designing her pieces. Firstly, she prefers to use precious stones/materials that are rare and quite expensive. Kunzite, Tanzanite, Paraiba and rough milky diamonds are some of the gems that she used in her collection. She modernized the look of the Philippine tamborine and how well she did it too that most of them are already sold, 6 days after the event. Her designs are modern, special and unique. Much like her personality. Here she is with her vignette stylist, Teresa Magcase.

She is quiet, shy and reserved but when you know the real Lucille, she unleashes a fun, vocal and talented person. Her being half Chinese made her choose to design all Oriental pieces. How detailed she was when designing her collection. Her demand for intricacy made it a little difficult for the boys to make but nothing that they couldn't handle. The use of jade is very visible in her items and I have to say this again, most are already sold. Bravo to my baby sister and her cousin, Anne, who stood by her through thick and thin.

As for your bloggerina, I decided to let my character show through my collection. I even entitled it WHIMSICAL because I believe that this is what my life has been for a long long time. My ups and downs with my love life, parties left and right, my events and groups of friends has made my family believe that I am all about being FUN. But honestly, I am just a simple girl who likes to be happy, but don't we all? Anyway, I captured things that I normally see around me, made a miniature version and put gems, diamonds and gold on it. Simple as that. Colors and Happiness is what's behind my collection. Here's me and my event stylist who has an endless supply of bright colors, Jun Jun Ablaza.

And yes, I was wearing a tiara. I told you I am a princess....

Green Minds at the Preview Best Dressed Ball 2008.

Event: Preview, The 2008 Best Dressed Ball
Date: July 4, 2008, 9 pm
Venue: Rockwell Tent
Attire: Green

It was another fashion event, same people, same cocktail food and same drinks. Although I have been to events like this many many times before, something was a bit different in the air. I couldn't figure it out right away. It was just a sense of a higher level of celebration. Everyone was dancing, being merry and taking photos left and right.

A few of my friends were included in the list of Best Dressed 2008 and I was there to show my support. To Ria Bolivar and Mai Kaufman and to the others on the list, my warmest congratulations. And to Preview, it is good to know that you have decided to be advocates of making this planet healthier by promoting a Greener Earth.

After the presentation, I sorta figured out what it was that made the night a bit different. Thinking about it a lot, I believe that people from the fashion and showbiz industry were secretly celebrating the end of Chikatime, a hate blog about personalities. Guests that were frequently attacked by this blog site seemed happy and it showed.

To tell you honestly, I am glad that it shut down. They were grabbing my photos and would vandalize them in their site. I hated it. I know that I posted a blog saying that I was not going to post photos of the guest list of the events that I go to but I meant to do that only because of this hate blog. But now that they are gone, I am eating my words...so here you go guys!

Enjoy the pics.

Ms. Pauline Suaco-Juan who has something baking in the oven, yet looked like a teenager.

Rose among the Daisies, your bloggerina with Juan Sarte, Rhett Eala, Nix Alanon and Robbie Carmona.

Janina Hoschka and her honey who went home early, just as I had predicted.

Leah Puyat and Junie Rodriguez.

Puey Quinones, again the person who dressed me up that evening. He was wearing his new Jul B. Dizon piece.

CandyMan's shirt matched my dress.

CJ and Lucille Dizon partied the night away with.....

Ria Bolivar and Sherwin Ricafrente.

Are you wondering who that guy in the back is? Looks very hippie eh?

OMG, it's Rajo Laurel gone bananas! Truly the life of the party.

With his honey, Nix Alanon.

Janina and David Kaufman.

Oh so sexy, Carmina Sanchez also wore a Puey Quinones.

I see this girl everywhere I go....Anne Curtis.

Joey Mead.....put down the glass honey. That's enough for you young lady.

Raymond Gutierrez and Mich Dulce who had the greenest mind of all. (wink wink)

Best Dressed, Ria Bolivar who looked radiant!
Juan Sarte an d Liz Uy.
The family that parties together, stays together.
Tippi and Ito Ocampo is becoming a regular in my blog.
Vennise Laurel-Hermano. I can tell this girl and I will get along real well.
Maritess Magcase.

Anna Angara, one of the ten Best Dressed 2008 of Preview Magazine.
