Scary Easter!

The Peninsula Manila did it again. If you can recall, I posted a blog entitled Stupid Cupid because of the decoration they used for the Valentine's Dinner.

Here's a photo of that Stupid Cupid.

For Easter, there were some cute decorations such as:

But boy oh boy, as I walked through the food spread, I have to tell you that it reminded me a lot of Halloween. Seriously, how can anyone think that this is appetizing at all? I mean, check out the salmon. The fresh head is still attached to it. And when you get a piece from the body, it looks like a bear had just grabbed it from the river, then before the bear had a chance to eat it, it was snatched and displayed on the buffet table. EEEK!

This chicken is still whole underneath that sliced ham on top of it. To me, it looks like a human body skinned alive. The fat looks like the ribs! And poor chicken looks like it swallowed a whole pineapple and is in the process of doing #2.

JURASSIC Chicken Pate!!! Need I say more?

Thank goodness for the Salmon and Arugula Pizza and the Massimo Pizza at Mi Piace!

Stupid Cupid....

This will probably be the shortest post I will ever post but I just have to tell you the ugliest cupid I have ever seen. What's worse is, I saw this in The Peninsula Hotel, Manila. A 5 star hotel that oozes with classiness....this time, with a cupid like this, KA-CHEAPAN!

Town and Country, 1st Anniversary.

Event: First Anniversary of Town and Country Philippines
Venue: Rigodon Ballroom, The Peninsula Hotel
Decor: Margarita Fores
Attire: Formal

It was good night. Plenty of drinks and food for everyone. People really dressed up for the event and it is nice to see glamour come back to affairs such as this.

Most of the time, when the invitations says formal, people still come in jeans, simple day dress and sometimes even sandals.

Last night, was really nice. The flower arrangement was gorgeous!!! The table was filled with different kinds of cheese, fruits, nuts, crackers and truffles. My next party, I will definitely have something similar to it.

The night also somehow introduced the new GM Vlad Reyes and his wife, Teresa to Manila's Society. Here they are with the ever beautiful Margie Moran and her daughter.

Entertainment came from Bimbo Cerrudo and Cris Villonco.
Tara Santos, Monique Villonco, Gretchen Cojuangco and Lisa Gokongwei making a toast for one of the best magazines in the country.

Here are the party people looking ravishing!

Love love love this Joel Escober's dress on B.Y.

Ferdie Salvador, Czarina Ledesma, Raul Manzano and your bloggerina.

The Peninsula's Events Manager, Stephanie Chong. A job well done!

New GM of Pen.

The time has come. Tomorrow, David Batchelor, the General Manager of The Peninsula Hotel will be leaving for Hong Kong for good. After 6 years, he has decided that it is time to take another step in his career. Last Aug. 22, Peninsula held a small dinner to welcome the new General Manager, Vlad Reyes and to bid farewell to DB. It was an intimate gathering and an opportunity to meet our new "Daddy."

The well wishers, Janina Hoschka, your bloggerina and Stephanie Chong with DB.

DB giving his speech to say bye to the VIP guests (hint hint, I am one of them BWA HA HAHA!) and introduces VR.

VR and his wife has not lived in the Philippines for 30 years. He is a friendly chap and his wife is gracious and kind. I just hope that they don't get asthma the way I did because of our pollution.

To Mr. and Mrs. Vlad Reyes, welcome home.

A Year Older in Old Manila.

It is always a sweet gesture when your honey throws a surprise party for you. I think that the effort to choose the menu, invite all your dearest friends and make sure that no one spills the beans is a tough job.

In this case, my hero is CYT who organized the birthday party for LT last Saturday at Old Manila. It was dark and cozy when I arrived. The lights were dimmed and people were sort of whispering. It was fun and exciting while waiting for the celebrant to arrive.

And when he finally did, how shocked he was that all his close friends were there to celebrate his birthday. He looked so happy and grateful to everyone that was present, especially to his wife who handled it all for him.

The food was taken cared of by Stephanie Chong, events manager of the Peninsula and everyone was very vocal about how good it was. I liked the desserts most. (wink wink)

To LT, thank you for being born and for marrying CYT. If you hadn't, we would have missed a truly great evening of good company, plenty laughs and delicious food.

The real reason to party.
