Loving the Squareheads!

Being called a Squarehead is not really something you can be proud of. According to the Urban Dictionary, a squarehead is a type of person without a sense of humor and unable to enjoy a sense of humor. There were other definitions but I prefer to use the least demeaning one. Anyway, when I hear or think Squarehead, the first thing that comes into my mind is Spongebob.

But lately, I have been falling in love with a different kind of Squarehead. The kind that makes me smile. Never fails to put a twinkle in my eyes and I would love to have on my hand ALWAYS. Just can't decide which one to choose from them all. I guess the only thing a girl like me can do is to take them all.

Black Attack!

Once you go black, you will love it for sure. Hey get your minds out of the trash bin.

I am talking about black onyx here. A stone that is fragile and mysterious that I cannot help but love.

Onyx is a cryptocrystalline form of quartz. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue.) Commonly, specimens of onyx available contain bands of colors of white, tan, and brown. Sardonyx is a variant in which the colored bands are sard (shades of red) rather than black. Pure black Onyx is common, and perhaps the most famous variety, but not as common as Onyx with banded colors.

It is usually cut as a cabochon, or into beads, and is also used for intaglios and cameos, where the bands make the image contrast with the ground. Some onyx is natural but much is produced by the staining of agate.

Available at Jul B. Dizon Jewellery and Janina for Jul Dizon.

Black onyx is believed to be one of the most powerful protection stones. Its way of doing this is to absorb and transform negative energy. Because of this quality people find it helpful in relieving stress and for emotional stability.

It's one of the first (root chakra) grounding stones; as such,it encourages connection to material goals and to determination in realizing them.

In much crystal literature black onyx is strongly associated to Saturn, and it is said that this stone works most positively for those with a strong Saturn in their natal charts. Although this may include people born under the sign of Capricorn, it's not limited to them.

It has been said that in India it was commonly worn to cool the ardors of love. Thus it may be very helpful for people who can't let go of past relationships (sometimes even long after they're over.)

The same can be true of any belief which no longer serves one - and they can be as hard to let go of as past relationships. Onyx's value in such situations is that it can help to bring us into contact with our actual realities, and assist us in gradually releasing all that is not in harmony with our present lives.

On order basis only.

Now that you have seen black? Are you going to turn back?

Thanks to Wikipedia for the info!
