April Birthday Celebrants!

BIRTHSTONE: Diamond
ZODIAC SIGN: Aries
HOROSCOPE: March 21 - April 20 (Aries), for Pisces, please check March Bday Celebrants
The spring equinox, March 21, is the beginning of the new zodiacal year and Aries, the first sign, is therefore that of new beginnings. The young ram is adventurous, ambitious, impulsive, enthusiastic and full of energy. The Arian is a pioneer both in thought and action, very open to new ideas and a lover of freedom. They welcome challenges and will not be diverted from their purpose except by their own impatience, which will surface if they don't get quick results.

Aries subjects are courageous leaders with a genuine concern for those they command, being responsible people, it is rare that they will use their subordinates to obtain their own objectives as leaders, but occasionally it does happen. They do not make very good followers because they are too "take charge". They may be unwilling to obey or submit to directions for which they can see no reason, or with which they disagree. They are much concerned with self, both positively and negatively - self-reliant but also self centered (sometimes) and concerned with their own personal advancement and physical satisfaction. Their immense energy makes them aggressive and restless, argumentative occasionally, headstrong, quick tempered, easily offended and capable of holding grudges if they feel themselves affronted.

As the first sign in the zodiac, you, as an Arian (as you are referred to), is to simply "get something started and lead the way". The Sun in this zodiac position gives your will free rein to express itself. You could be doing this in the form of some leadership role, or by forcing others to look at themselves in a new way. You can accomplish this by knowingly carrying out a deliberate act in the name of some cause that moves you. A negative effect of this sun sign is that you could sometimes unknowingly make it hard for others to relate to you, as you really are.

Trinkets for the Boys!!!

If a woman has a Birkin, she almost kinda feels that she has to have an Hermes wallet to match it with. When I wore my Chanel shoes, my sister told me that it would have been better if I wore a Chanel bag, not that I have one because I don't so whoever wants to donate one to me, you know where to find me. (Ha ha ha)

So what about the guys? What will complete their look? Knowing men, they are not much into bags and shoes but the guys I know are into CARS. So if you have a Jaguar....

...to complete your look, you should have one of these...

Imagine when you try to impress a girl with this BMW......

....with a matching keychain. Winner!

A car this good looking without a keychain is like my Chanel shoes without the bag.

Not sure what model this is but I really don't care. It is beautiful but again, complete the look with the keychain and you are good to go.

My favorite car because it is red. I probably would buy the keychain first before I get the car because at least I can easily afford the trinket. Sigh.....

So for the men who think they have it all because they have great cars, well, I say, you don't, until you have the matching keyholder. And for the women who cannot decide what he will like better, the Hermes tie or the Zegna shoes, most probably, he won't care, but give him this and you are assured to have the best ride of your life.

All keychains are in 18 karat gold, made in Italy and available only at Jul B. Dizon Jewellery, Peninsula branch. Only 5 pieces so step on the gas and head on over before it runs out. You know you want to.

Get High with These Rocks!

You know what bliss a dress maker feels when he/she has yards and yards of assorted colors and kinds of fabric to play with? Well, in my case, it is oodles and oodles of precious gems. This is what I call my happy toys, aside of course, from a 3 week vacation in Greece, a private yacht speeding around the Bahamas, a log cabin up in Switzerland and a fantasy only this picture can describe.

Anyway, back to my rubbles, Jul B. Dizon Jewellery has stacked up on loose precious gems and we invite our clients and friends to get creative with us. Choose your desired color of gem, design your own one-of-a-kind piece and we will create it for you. The stones are not expensive so don't fret. Some of them are as low as P495.00/carat. If we use silver, you may have a ring like this for only P26,000.00.

Not bad eh? Check out only some of the stones I was able to take a photo of....there's more where that came from.

Put all the stones together and you can make something like this...

We also have carved flowers and leaves of assorted mined stones. The colors are mostly pastel and the shapes and sizes can drive your creative juices crazy!

A flower like this plus your imagination and style....

....can come out like this....

When I get sad and depressed, I usually focus on designing.....hmmm, ok, I am lying. I usually focus on the guys above but when reality hits me, I try to tap the creative side of my brain and make something magnificient. I am sure you can too.

Apartment 1B is the Place to Be!

Okay, okay, I know...another food blog? Seriously? I googled Apartment 1b and 3 gazillion blogs about this restaurant came up and I was suddenly unsure about posting another one. But I recently got an email from a friend from abroad asking me where, out of all the restaurants that I blogged about, he should treat his friends out when he arrives. I realized that hey, 1 out of 6.8 billion people in this Earth wants MY suggestion as to where to eat. Now, that is BIG! HUGE! Firstly because someone actually reads my blog and second, relies on my opinion about restaurants. I feel like such a winner! (Bwa ha ha ha)

Anyway, when my friends MAA and his wife, MarAA invited Steffie and I to dinner, his only option was Apartment 1B at the ground floor, One Lafayette Square, LP Leviste corner SedeƱo Streets. I know that this place has been around for a while now but it was only late last year that I was able to try it out and now, I have eaten here for 5 times in 2 months. That's quite often since there are thousands of restaurants that I still have to try out.

I was finally able to try what MarAA always orders, the BBQ Ribs when my cousins Chester and Ken were here. Now, I am hooked. I don't think I will order anything else when I eat here. Aside from the great food, the service is also superb and the ambiance is very homey.

I won't say much, will just show you the pics and let you slobber all over your keyboard.

What's left of the chocolate cake and toblerone cheesecake.

3 Ladies and a Baby.

Event: Johnson & Johnson Launch of Soothing Naturals
Venue: The Conservatory, The Peninsula Manila
Date and Time: March 13, 12 noon
Presented by: Johnson & Johnson
Sponsors: Denise Weldon, Jul B. Dizon Jewellery
Host: Claudine Trillo
Talents: Martha and Tamara Araneta

A collaboration between Denise Weldon, photographer, Candy Dizon of Jul B. Dizon Jewellery and mother of the talent, Martha Araneta created the following photos which was unveiled last week by Johnson & Johnson as part of their promotion for their new product called Soothing Naturals. A baby wash and lotion made out of olive leaf extract.

OK, I am not saying this because I was part of this launch but I was given sample bottles of the product and to tell you honestly, it really does make the skin feel smooth and soft. No kidding. Quite pricey for the Johnson and Johnson products we are used to but this is really good.

Enjoy the pics!

The host and yours truly.
